Sonic All Star Racing Transformed Game Info

Whroom, swish – Splash

This is a racing game….now in saying that, understand that it is a Sonic racing game. This implies high action, high speed and great adventure. Like the racing games before, the game enables the player to race with various characters from different Sega games and franchises in a cart race galore. The thing that makes this game attractive is the fact that your character cart can actually change form from racing in a car to a boat to a plane.

The form that you race in is determined very much by the racecourse and where you are on it at the time, for example, if you happen to drive and the bridge falls away under you…. no problem, you simply change into a plane and keep racing.

This is all automated and not controlled by the player. This is also one of the great advantages to players that are new to the Sonic type racing games. The game also retained some of the previous successes like weapons…. the ability to fire everything at your opponents from fire, to rockets and even ice. Adding additional excitement is the fact that you can shoot these both in front of you as well as shooting them to the back….basically attacking opponents approaching from the rear.  There are also defensive weapons for example “the glove” that enable you to catch weapons being fired at you.

Career Mode, Grand Prix, Time Attack and Single Race, World Tour mode are just some of the racing modes that you will find in the game. World tour is probably the most exciting and involves the player racing different tracks to gain points and then unlocking new racing levels through a branching series of events ranging from standard races, drifting, traffic attacks and circle races. Completing these races will earn you stars that can be used for unlocking new levels. Completing the races with different characters will also give you XP points with that character that will allow specific cart upgrades for that character. This does however come slow….and you will have to race with your favourite character before getting them to the point of invincibility. First 5 Minutes:

The game is a quick starter… and you will be racing away in the first 5 minutes. Single races a good for practice but you would want to unlock more levels and most likely you would start with the career mode if you had a quick glance and the available levels in single race. Remember you can only upgrade the character carts by actually racing with them.

Multi – Player:

The game does not offer online play but does offer multiplayer split screen. Nothing out of the ordinary but fun.

Online Futures:

The game does not offer online play but does offer multiplayer split screen. Nothing out of the ordinary but fun. There is however an online leader board that can track time’s, wins and XP against online friends that does offer a competitiveness angle on the game.

In the end:
This game is a lot of fun. If you want a racing career or have 5 minutes to kill, it is a blast and for a racing game Whroom, swish – Splash…. doesn’t matter how you race….. very entertaining.

Recommendations:
If you like Sonic…. and if you like racing…. and want these two combined in cars, boats and planes then Whroom, swish – Splash…. this is your game.
