Quick fun, suits are fun to use, Lego is always fun to build

Can be repetitive, AI is still dumb

If you’re like me, your Lego game craze started as a child, progressing to play Lego Star Wars and the like finally coming up to speed with this game, a game of pure genius combined with Lego bring you an extremely sheen game with a high amount of love put into it. This is Lego Batman 2.

Those of you that bought an Xbox 360 Elite between 2010 and 2011 will have received a free copy of Lego Batman, if you actually played this game you would realise how good the original was, it was also new in the eyes of Lego fans as the combat was refined to a new level, combos could be pulled off and different suits you could wear would yield different results and effects.

That’s where Lego Batman 2 comes in, taking the original and improving it in every way while at the same time adding in enough new things to keep even hardcore fans happy, new suits have been added with new abilities, new puzzles to keep the mind actively working and an improved engine allow more enemies on screen at the same time and more pieces of Lego, letting you have a particularly Lego filled experience playing this game (sort of self-explanatory)

Once you start progressing through the game and start to learn the storyline better (I had to play it twice to understand it properly so don’t feel dumb) you’ll start to realise it’s not very complex, hard to understand and unnecessary, a small thing turns into a very big one, Joker has no motives in the game, I know he’s crazy but he should be working towards something at least, but this can be overlooked with the addition of Lex Luthor who brings the necessary amount of evil comedic relief to the game that makes you realise ‘woah, things are kind of crazy here’.

This all comes down to the gameplay though, the gameplay is truly the best yet in Lego games, the blows are smooth to use and jumping cannot be easier (beware the PC controls are slightly difficult to use but can be configured easily)

One down-leading factor in the game is (Like in most Lego games) the AI partner you get, this is definitely a game designed to be played with your friends as the AI will continuously fail at almost everything except running and jumping, either quick switch a lot, or bring a friend.

All in all this leads the game to easily be one of the most enjoyable Lego games out there, now all we need is a Lego Spider-Man. If you are looking for a fun game to enjoy with some of your friends, Lego Batman 2 is definitely your kind of game. It’s easy to play, easy to use and it’s tons of fun with friends. If you want some quick paced action while enjoying the common comedic breaks, then this game is definitely for you.
