Dance Central 3 is the latest game in this Dance Central franchise. Boasting entertaining and loads of fun dance routines and great characters to engage and party with. It has a path for the experienced as well as opportunities for the not so rhythm blessed two left foot typed player out there. The Kinect tracking keeps you dedicated to mastering the professional choreography letting you know where in your body movement you are thriving and where you are dying. Timing and Practice allows you to learn and dominate the dance routines smashing any competitor who dares to challenge you on the dance floor.

Included here as in the traditional Dance Central games, “next move indicators” queue along the side of the dance screen, letting the dancer know which moves are next to perform in the current routine. If your moves are not matched to the dance routine then the non-participating limb will be highlighted in red letting you know that your routine performance is not exact enough and that you should consider hitting the studio for further training rehearsals.

The game can release the hibernating inner beast with its era related dance moves and matching music. The story mode allows you to explore and relive music hits and dance crazes from dance and music history.

Bringing back a nostalgic history, Dance Central 3 includes a variety of hit songs from the past four decades. “Turn the Beat Around,” “I Will Survive,” and numerous other tracks will bring out the ’70s in you. You will be twisting and turning to beats from the crazy ’80s such as “Let the Music Play” and “You’ve Got It (The Right Stuff),” and many more. Something that you and your kids could possibly bond to will be songs like “Now That We Found Love” and “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” From the naughty nineties! There are all the modern hits from the 2000’s to the 2010’s such as Katy Perry, 50 Cent and Maroon 5 all with respective, relevant dance moves to bust out to.

Coupled with the ridiculously entertaining Story mode, you can jam to your favourite songs in traditional Dance Central style by selecting “Perform mode” and  attempting to smash the moves as a solo star in the making or to create an insane competition with a friend.

What differentiates Dance Central 3 from the other titles in the franchise is Party Time mode. This mode is like the shuffle function on your cd player automatically selecting songs and game types, allowing you to let it run for your friends and arch enemies in dance to jump in an continue tearing up some carpet when the opportunity for stardom calls.

If casual and fun is childish and you are looking for some more professional hard-core dance competitive structure, “Crew Throwdown” allows two teams of up to 4 dancers to compete in a series of dance battles that take the Fittest, The strongest and the most persistent through to a cut-throat final dance battle where glory and brag rights await the victor. There is an online multi-player competitive mode available for you to compete with the best and boast your scores to the world online.

So, whether you’re looking for an amateur window of opportunity into the dance world, a must have party game bringing the friends and family together in laughable or competitive dance spirit or if you simply wish to challenge yourself and upgrade your dance skills and exercise in fun at the same time then Dance Central 3 is the perfect way to turn your family lounge into a coliseum of dance entertainment.
